Q: Which is heavier, One pound of cotton or One pound of gold?

Solution: The weight of one pound cotton is more than one pound gold.
Cotton is measured in 16oz pound(Avoirdupois pound). But Gold is measured in 12oz pound(Troy pound).

    Cotton.
    The weight of cotton is measured in avourdpois pounds, while gold is measured in troy pounds.

    An avourdpois pound of cotton weighs 453.59g
    A troy pound of gold weighs 373.24g

    So the cotton is heavier.
